About EDGE

Edge Design & Build provides design and construction services for residential new construction. Our projects include client-based remodels and new construction as well as speculative multifamily and single-family homes in an effort to provide more well-designed and contemporary alternatives for new construction in the greater Seattle area.

We believe there is an intrinsic relationship between the studio and the jobsite. We operate in a collaborative manner, considering issues of cost and constructability during design, and maintaining quality and attention to detail in the field.

Brian Franey

After graduating from the University of Washington, Brian’s background in architecture and fine woodworking led him to the field of general carpentry, eventually establishing Edge Design & Build in 2001.  His diverse experience has lent him a variety of skills that are integral to facilitating the design-build process.

Nina Franey

After graduating from the University of Washington, Nina worked in a variety of architecture firms in Seattle. After returning to the University of Washington to complete her Master of Architecture, Nina joined Edge Design & Build.  In addition to her work with Edge, Nina has continued her affiliation with the University of Washington’s Department of Architecture, teaching undergraduate design studio and participating in the Architecture in Rome program.
