High Way | Remodel

The remodel for this family cabin is guided by two goals: to strengthen the cabin’s connection to the surrounding Methow Valley and to ensure it remains a place for family to gather for generations to come. Expansive windows and sliding doors open to views of the landscape and provide direct access to the wrap-around porch. Reorganized sleeping, living, and kitchen areas support both connection and time apart, while a new floating stair improves access to the upper loft and expands its utility. Siding is being replaced with new steel panels that will rust over time, creating a skin that is fire resistant, blends into the landscape, and tightens the details of the exterior form. Together, these revisions create a more flexible and adaptable cabin that responds to both its site and the family’s evolving needs.
